Christmas!!!
Christmas Eve with Friends!
We have a tradition here at our house......we always have breakfast on Christmas Eve morning with our friends at Friendly's. This year was no exception to the rule! We had a great time eating and opening presents together. The kids are more like cousins than friends and it is so fun for us moms to watch them interact! I hope that their friendships last as long as Heather's and mine has!! We are soooo blessed!

Hot date!
What do you all do with alone time with your husband?? Marsh and me?? We decorate gingerbread houses!!!
This week was the annual Ladies Banquet for our church and they needed over 30 gingerbread houses for the centerpieces. I volunteered to make 2 and enlisted the help of my very creative husband to help me with this task. For those of you that have never done one, it is quite a challenge! We had fun though....rummaging through the almost stale Halloween candy in search of more props. I think we ended up finishing them after 11pm!!
I had forgotten to take pictures of them but luckily I attended the banquet on Monday night and was able to find both of ours to snap a picture. I also included the picture of the "winning" house that got the coveted spot on the head table. (wink, wink....it was the hostess' husband.....sounds fishy!! Kidding Melis!)
For those of you that are wondering, mine is the first one, Marsh is the second and the winner is the brick looking house. I didnt get a picture of the back of Marshall's, which was the best part! He did a stained glass window made out of fruit rollups!!
Headed up now to start another day of fun and play with the boys!! Have a great day!

Zach is 3!!
So, my baby turned 3 last week!! (I am struggling with this a little.) We had a family party for him on Friday night and it was a blast!! He has been saying for weeks that all he wanted was balloons and a horsey, balloon birthday cake. Now where was I gonna get that? My friend Jamie came to my rescue and you will see that she did an amazing job!! Zach was thrilled and kept asking me all day if it was time for cake! We barbequed and opened presents and had a great night together. Zach was exhausted by the end (as you can see in the picture of him in the chair!) and we all slept well!
So sad....

Busy Week!
The past week has been a little crazy here, as you can imagine. Nate had a party last weekend at the "Little Gym" and loved every minute of it! Zach watched patiently through the glass....
After a short week of school, we had 4 days off and enjoyed our time together. I was on call for some of Thanksgiving day, but we were able to squeeze dinner in at Jess' parents house. We had a great time! (other than the football injury! Thanks Jim!) Friday, with the help of the kids, we got the Christmas decorations up. Saturday was a lay-low kinda day because I had worked the overnight. We layed around in jammies all day and played games. Pretty, pretty princess was the big hit! As you can see, we enjoyed lolly pops while we played. Yesterday, we went to church and then we headed over the IKEA and had a great afternoon just wandering around, thinking about all of the things we could do in our house if we had some extra time and money!! HAHAH!! It is always nice to dream isnt it?? The boys had fun playing in the boxes while dad assembled some of the goodies we got. They dont need Christmas presents....just give them cardboard!!
Back to the grind, this fine, rainy, Monday morning. Lots to get done this week! Hope everyone is doing well!

Brrr.....Chilly!!
Wow!!! It was a cold weekend in Chincoteague, but, boy, did we have fun!! We got there around 10pm on Thursday night and immediately kicked on the heaters. Everyone slept great!! Friday started out pretty cold, but the boys were outside with gloves and mittens....loving it! In fact, they went out on a golf cart ride, still in their pj's, with Pop-pop and Me-mom! We puttered around, attempted some fishing with Pop-pop (did I mention it was windy AND cold?!?!), had homemade chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese for lunch, went out to the beach (Cold, again!) and ended the day with bowling! (The kids ran around on the beach in bare feet if you can believe it!) Zach had sooo much fun bowling. He insisted on using the pink ball, which was 8 pounds, so by the end, he was putting it on the ground and kicking it down the lane. It was hysterical!! Saturday morning, we cleaned up around the camper and winterized it with hopes of being off the island by 3pm. We went out to the lighthouse around one and climbed all the way to the top!! Zach loved it! He was just happy to be able to touch the lighthouse, let alone, climb to the top! Smiles all around! He wouldn't let Marsh or myself even carry him....he had to do the stairs himself. We left there and went to get some lunch at our favorite restaurant, Maria's. I think we just weren't ready to leave because we went back out the beach for one last look (Kay had to go look for shells for a few minutes too!) and then we went back to the Creamery for our last ice cream of the season. It was 5:15 before we even started the trip toward home.
It was a great weekend away as a family and I am already dreaming of sunny, hot days on the beach next year. We feel so blessed to be able to "get away" for a few days and are grateful to God for all that He has given us!
